With two absent seats on ‘X-Factor’ after Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger left the show, Simon Cowell has been attempting to find replacements. Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Katy Perry, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears and Whitney Houston were all candidates and TMZ has now reported that Avril Lavigne is interested in filling a spot.
Lavigne has an inside connection as she was one of L.A. Reid’s protégés. Her people reached out to Cowell and the other members of the team to indicate her interests. Sources report that Lavigne believes she would make a good coach for the younger participants because she entered the industry at such a young age.
