Katy Perry is an elegant beauty on the cover of the latest issue of ‘The Hollywood Reporter.’ With the cover tag “Confessions Of A Pop Princess,” Perry opened up about everything including her career, divorce, self financed autobiographical film ‘Katy Perry: Part Of Me,’ starting her own record label and more.

Here’s what Katy Perry had to say:

On the ‘California Dreams’ tour: “There were times when what was going on in my personal life was so overwhelming that I had to bend over to let those tears fall straight out of my eyes and not my false lashes just as I’m about to go up on that ramp and sing ‘Teenage Dream.’” “I had to smack myself across the face and say, ‘These problems are my problems, they are not my audience’s problems, learn to separate that.”

On her divorce from Russell Brand: “Like how I write my songs, honesty has always worked for me. So if it ain’t broke, why f*cking fix it? … Nobody knows what really happened [in the breakup] except the two people who are in it.”

On her “sex-symbol” status: ”People love the idea of a good girl gone bad, thinking that my parents were so strict and disowned me, but that actually wasn’t the case.” “Even though they don’t necessarily agree with some of the things I do, they love me as their daughter. That’s always been their perspective.”

On starting her own record label: “When it does come to fruition, I’m going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success.”
