Lady Gaga Reveals Artistic ‘Fame’ Perfume Advertisement
Lady Gaga’s debut fragrance ‘Fame’ is one of the most advanced fragrances ever created boasting new colour changing and scent technology so it’s only right that such a revolutionary scent should have an ad campaign to match.
Mother Monster has revealed the first promotional image for the fragrance’s campaign and it’s as artistic as it can get featuring a masked, nude Lady Gaga holding the first-ever black eau de parfum while miniature monsters crawl all over her body.
Interesting isn’t it?
Gaga is a massive marketing tool and with ‘Fame’ set to hit shelves in late August it is expected to earn $100 million in global sales within its first year. Gaga told WWD, “Fame is an illusion — if you really want it, anyone can have it.”
Bernd Beetz of Coty Inc., said, “Gaga’s launch represents my personal credo brought to life: Innovate or die! Absolutely everything about this launch is innovative, from the bottle, to the juice, to the lady herself … She’s zeitgeist in a bottle.”
Another Coty exec. said, “This is a very stimulating partnership; and she’s pushed us with her ideas, we’ve come with our own ideas — and the combination of the two is very valuable.”
“Lady Gaga talks about how her music has a sweet center and a dark shell, and a lot of her music has refrains that have a rough passage that go toward a sweet-spot melody in the middle,” said a member of the fragrance team. “She referenced that a lot and we tried to capture this type of duality in the fragrance, with the incense and something sweet like apricot.”
‘Fame’ will be carried at 3,000 retail locations in the United States, with Sephora, Macy’s and Saks Fifth Avenue among some of these locations.
