Lana Del Rey Is The New Face Of H&M

Published On July 17, 2012 | Celebrities, Fashion

Rumours were popping up a few weeks ago that Lana Del Rey had been named the new face of fashion giant H&M but the news was confirmed just hours ago when the autumn campaign was revealed starring none other than the ‘National Anthem’ singer.

Wearing a pale pink angora jumper and matching micro shorts with her trademark beehive hair, she looks as sultry as ever as her cat-winged eyes piercingly stare at the camera in the campaign shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

The mood is very L.A. noir,” Donald Schneider, H&M’s creative director, told WWD . “It’s inspired by our fall collection.” “We were looking for a style icon and singer to model our fall collection and so Lana Del Rey was the perfect choice,” Chloe Bowers, H&M PR Manager, told Grazia Daily this morning.

“The theme of the campaign is a modern and feminine woman with a soft attitude,” Chloe continues. “Curves and waist are important in autumn’s silhouette with a focus on knitwear and tweed, the colours include powder tones and accessories in wine red.”

The 26-year-old singer also performed a cover of ‘Blue Velvet’ for a minifilm that will be released on on September 19th and subsequently distributed globally. Edited versions will be used as TV commercials.

Lana Del Rey is also the face of the soon-to-be-released winter campaign for Swedish fashion house H&M.
