Nicki Minaj Cancels V Festival Set Due To Vocal Chord Damage

‘Pound The Alarm’ rapper Nicki Minaj was forced to “regretfully” cancel her weekend U.K. concerts at the 2012 V Festival in England “due to strained vocal cords.”

“Despite doctor’s orders, she performed on a bruised vocal chord in (New York City) on August 14. As a result, the chord has gotten worse,” her rep said. Minaj’s X-ray revealed increased damage and her doctor has ordered her to take several days off to rest.

Meanwhile, rumours have been circulating that ‘American Idol’ execs are considering Minaj as a judge for season 12 of the show and it has caused a lot of controversy on the corporate end.

Minaj is the new face of Pepsi and her endorsement deal includes commercials along with album and touring promotion. However, Coke has been a sponsor of ‘American Idol’ since season 1 –investing $26 million every season – and they aren’t too pleased at all with her name being on the list since her presence on the judging panel would be a conflict of interest.
