Alicia Keys performed her new piano ballad ‘Not Even The King’ during the 2012 Stand Up to Cancer telethon last week (September 7th) and she has now released the lyric video to the song. Inspired by artist Basquiat, the artsy clip shows the lyrics to ‘Not Even The King’ being written into a notebook with accompanying paintings to match.

Very different from ’Girl On Fire’ yet just as emotional, she sings: “So darling listen, your arms around me worth more than a kingdom / Yeah believe that, the trust that we feel the kings never felt that / Yeah, this is the song we sing, we don’t need anything / They can’t afford this, this is priceless / They can’t afford what we got, not even the king.”

‘Not Even The King’ is lifted from her upcoming album ‘Girl On Fire,’ which hits shelves on November 27th. “Thank u so much 4 ur love!” she recently tweeted. “This album has so much n store 4 u, I believe it will take u 2 so many places [inside] of [yourself]! I’m super excited!!”
