Justin Bieber’s Mother Pattie Mallette Talks To ‘Ellen’ & ‘TODAY’

Justin Bieber’s mother Pattie Mallette recently made appearances on both ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ and ‘TODAY,’ where she discussed her son’s parenting, her sexual abuse, being pregnant with the Biebs and more.
Speaking to Ellen, she first addressed the rumours that JB’s father Jeremy only reappeared in his life when he became a superstar. Like any teenage couple, Pattie and Mallette were “on again and off again” but, “As we got older, we both grew. [Justin's] dad has been around since he was a baby. Some people think he came along when he became famous. That’s not true. His dad has always been there. He’s a good dad.”
She also opened up about JB’s super beautiful girlfriend Selena Gomez telling ‘Ellen,’ ”How can you not like her? She is so sweet. She is good for him and they are great together.”
When she appeared on the ‘TODAY’ show, she discussed her book ‘Nowhere but Up: The Story of Justin Bieber’s Mom,’ and addressed being sexually abused when she was a teenager.
She told Kathie Lee Gifford, “I’ve learned it’s normal and natural for anybody who’s been through sexual abuse to carry that shame and that blame and feel like there’s something wrong with you. So I definitely carried that.”
Mama Bieber got pregnant at the young age of 18 and she knew in her heart that she couldn’t abort it. “I just knew I couldn’t [abort it]. I just knew I couldn’t. I just know I had to keep him,” she said. “And, do the best. I — you know, I didn’t know how I was going to do it. But I just knew that I couldn’t — I couldn’t abort. I had to do my best. I had to see what I could do. And I was determined to do whatever it took.”
