Alicia Keys’ annual Black Ball charity event is just a few weeks away and the ‘Girl On Fire’ songstress will be joined by Beyoncé, Carole King and Oprah Winfrey among other powerful women.
Every year, the Black Ball charity event is held to raise money for Keys’ charity ‘Keep a Child Alive’ and this year, the event is being held in honour of Winfrey and Angélique Kidjo for their philanthropic efforts. This year’s event will be a memorable one as Beyoncé, King, Keys, Kidjo and Alabama Shakes will all perform at the event with Whoopi Goldberg taking on the MC duties.
“[Carole King has] blazed the trail for women in the music industry,” says Keys in a press release. “Women will be rocking the house this year,” she adds.
The 2012 Black Ball event takes place on November 1st at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom. Since launching the charity in 2003, Keys has raised more than $14 million.
