Coldplay Get Animated In ‘Hurts Like Heaven’ Video Premiere

Coldplay has released the visual for ‘Hurts Like Heaven,’ the fifth and final single lifted from their latest album ‘Mylo Xyloto’ and in the clip, the guys take a new route as they become animated and embark on a memorable journey.

The animated Mark Osborne directed clip throws a gang that has a passion for graffiti into a world where they must rebel against Major Minus. All of this should sound a tad bit familiar, as it is the prequel to the story of Mylo Xyloto.

Mylo Xyloto’s story will be told in Coldplay’s six-part ‘Mylo Xyloto’ comic book series, which will be released every month starting February 2013 via Bongo Comics.

“Three years ago we had an idea with our friend Mark Osborne about a character called Mylo Xyloto –’xylo’ as in xylophone, ‘to’ as in toe,” Coldplay said in a statement. “Gradually Mylo’s story and universe came together and this ended up providing the backdrop for the album and tour. Now we’re proud to announce that early next year the story is going to come out as a six-part comic. We hope you like it. It was fun making it.”

Apart from the ‘Mylo Xyloto’ comic series, Coldplay will also release a concert film and live album called ‘Live 2012.’ The CD/DVD will be available starting November 20th and the concert film will premiere on EPIX on November 17th.

‘Mylo Xyloto’ is easily one of Coldplay’s most successful ventures to date.
