A few hours ago, Rihanna returned to the ‘Saturday Night Live’ stage as the musical guest alongside host Eli Manning. Dressed in all black to compliment her new edgy hair, the songstress made her ‘SNL’ stage return with a bang performing ‘Birthday Cake,’ ‘Talk That Talk’ and ‘Where Have You Been.’
Her first set was the ballad of ‘Birthday Cake’ and ‘Talk That Talk’ but before we even get to that, let’s just say that we’ve been waiting FOREVER to see her perform ‘Birthday Cake’ live and the only thing missing from the choreography was a few seconds of twerking.
Bringing the usual sexual atmosphere with her onto the stage, Rih kicked off the track working her waist before she began to pat her “cake” over and over while teasing the men watching worldwide with what they would never get. She then hopped over to ‘Talk That Talk,’ which showed a slight change in choreography since her debut performance of the track on the Jonathan Ross Show a while back. Nevertheless, she delivered an enticing performance as always.
RihannaNavy, the time has finally come. After a month of filming, dropping three Behind-The-Scenes videos for ‘Where Have You Been’ and teasing us with the choreography, wardrobe and set design, Rihanna has finally released the long awaited ‘Where Have You Been’ video.
The clip opens with Rihanna ascending from the water with smudged eye makeup. As the beat really kicks in, she reveals her full body and then the scene switches to the singer (clad in the attire worn for the single cover) and her backups covered in mud in bright red pants with a zebra print top and blonde extensions as she dances in the ‘desert’ with pits of fire.
The singer also switches hairstyles in a jiffy as she rocks black curls a black mini dress and silver hoops and dances in smoke with her dancers who are all decked out in tribal wear and paint.
Rihanna has been dropping teasers for ‘Where Have You Been’ all week long and her latest release has been BTS Where Have You Been Part 3: On the Set. As the title suggests, we’re given an insight into the elaborate design and preparation of the set for the video. RihRih revealed that “this is a shoot that we’ve been working on all week” and then introduces us to the director Dave Meyers.
Her dancers are shown receiving their temporary tribal tattoos and the scene flashes back to Rih sitting in a nest with a blooming sakura tree in the background.
“The Next Day,” the team is back on set and as Rihanna enters the water, we see that she decided to wear the pasties and she jokes with the assistant about staring at her tits.
Another day into the future, we seethe singer in tribal wear as she enters the water before the scene flashes to her on set as she shouts “How long have we been filming?” – The answer, 17 hours!
Rihanna has been dropping stills from her upcoming video for ‘Where Have You Been’ and the latest black and white release (shown above) captures the singer in a natural environment as she averts her stare from the direction of the camera, while wearing various necklaces, bracelets and other jewelry to complete her Goddess of nature look.
Rihanna hasn’t made an appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’ in the first time in two years and on May 5th, she will join Eli Manning, the host and SuperBowl-winning quarterback of the New York Giants as the show’s musical guest.
We’re unsure what song she will perform but we’ll keep our fingers crossed that she makes the first live performance of her high-octane single ‘Birthday Cake.’ Hopes are also high that she will play a part in a comedy skit as her previous roles were all hits with her fans.
As a side note – May 5th is also Chris Brown’s birthday so maybe Brown & Rihanna will reunite on stage in the event that she does make the performance debut of the ‘Birthday Cake’ Remix! We want that – Cake, Cake, Cake, Cake, Cake, Cake, Cake, Cake, Cake, Cake, Cake!
Earlier this week, Rihanna shared a photo from the video for ‘Where Have You Been’ and the singer is continuing to tease her fans with more and more stills as the days go by. She has shared two more black and white photo stills both, which show her beautiful face in its entire splendor unlike the first.
In one photo taken from the shoulders up, her eyes are almost closed and she’s wearing her hair piled on her head with large seashell earrings. In the second photo, her eyes are fully closed as she wears her hair down and sings the lyrics for the EDM track. She’s accessorizing with beads on her face, bulky arm jewelry and a large necklace to make for a perfect photo.
Only moments ago, Rihanna shared a teaser photo from her upcoming visual for ‘Where Have You Been’ via her Facebook page with the caption “The countdown to “Where Have You Been” is on..” The black & white photo shows the singer in a studded bra and sequined skirt as she accessorizes with her black hair and heavy jewelry on her arm.
The natural scene behind her is highly reminiscent of a Japanese garden so it’s possible that the video was filmed during her time in Japan for the ‘Princess Of China’ video shoot.
A few weeks ago, Rihanna posted a series of tweets relating to the video. “Video shoot goin MAJAH!!! Longest day everrrrr tho!!! #WHEREhaveUbeen #stillgoin.” Her choreographer HitHat also fired off a few tweets saying, “1st day shoot is sizzling hot! #WHYB.” She also tweeted, “Almost 3am and still shooting…. Werking overtime! #WHYB.”
She recently revealed the cover art for the single, which showed her hiding her face in an animal print scarf only revealing her left eye with a smoky look.
The singer has been spotted out & about during Weekend 1 of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. She hopped on stage with Calvin Harris to perform ‘We Found Love’ and ‘Where Have You Been’ while her BFF Katy Perry surfed the crowd. She was also seen enjoying a smoke while sitting on the shoulders of her security and taking in Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s headlining performance.
Rihanna has begun filming the visual for ‘Where Have You Been,’ the second single from ‘Talk That Talk.’ She tweeted a photo of herself on set with the caption, “Where have you been all my life?”
The first thing that you notice when looking at the photo is Rih’s hair, which has been dyed all black. As you move downwards, the singer sports a few oversized black bangles and what looks like a white hairpiece as she strategically hides her ladies.
Rih followed up with another tweet saying, “Video shoot goin MAJAH!!! Longest day everrrrr tho!!! #WHEREhaveUbeen #stillgoin” Meanwhile, HitHat, the choreographer for the shoot has been tweeting details about it as well. “1st day shoot is sizzling hot! #WHYB” she said. She also tweeted, “Almost 3am and still shooting…. Werking overtime! #WHYB.”
A new video of Rihanna for Armani Jeans has also surfaced in which the singer seems to be having quite the hard time in bed before putting on her A|J and heading off to the airport.
