Fresh Tunes: Miley Cyrus – ‘We Can’t Stop’

28May2013 Miley Cyrus We Cant Stop Fresh Tunes: Miley Cyrus We Cant Stop We expected so much more from Miley Cryus’ comeback single ‘We Can’t Stop.’ The singer dropped the first single from her upcoming RCA debut just hours ago and as the title suggests, it encourages listeners to party until the world ends. Sadly, it’s an extreme let down and waste of a release (at least in the summer).

When we heard that she was in the studio with Mike Will, we were expecting something that would dominate the summer charts, party scene and give the ladies something to twerk to. Instead, we received a down tempo pop jam with lyrics like “shaking it like we at a strip club / remember only God can judge us / Forget the haters / Because somebody loves ya.”

Fresh Tunes: Ellie Goulding – ‘Tessellate’

28May2013 Ellie Goulding Tessellate Fresh Tunes: Ellie Goulding – ‘Tessellate’ The word “disappoint” does not exist in Ellie Goulding’s vocabulary. The British songbird wowed with a performance of ‘Explosions/ Anything Could Happen’ on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and she’s followed up by releasing a track by the name of ‘Tessellate.’

Produced by Xaphoon Jones, ‘Tessellate’ is a cover of the original track by the same name released by British alternative indie pop quartet Alt-J (∆) in 2012 lifted from their debut studio album ‘An Awesome Wave.’

The track was the perfect song for Ellie to cover. It’s haunting vibe perfectly suits her ethereal voice and it’s impressive how easily she made the song her very own. “Three guns and one goes off / One’s empty, one’s not quick enough / One burn, one red, one grin / Search the graves while the camera spins,” she sings on the tune.

The world knows that Ellie Goulding is one of the most impressive artists of all time and this song is testament as to why this is so.
