Like many of her fellow Disney graduates, Demi Lovato has rocketed to an unimaginable level of fame. At just 20 years of age, the singer-songwriter has already starred in numerous films and series, released three albums (with another one on the way), secured a spot on the ‘X Factor’ judging panel and built a dedicated fan base.
We had plenty of questions for Demi when she visited Barbados but we were most excited to ask about her upcoming album ‘DEMI,’ which hits shelves on May 14th. “I’m looking forward to my fans getting to hear the music I’ve been working on for so long and that I’ve been so passionate about,” she told us. “It’s really great. Sometimes I just listen to the songs and I’m like … I can’t believe that nobody’s heard this and I’ve been listening to it for months so I’m exited for them to finally hear it.”

Gigi Ma’at is a popular name in our little island of Barbados and for good reason. An artist in every right, her creativity takes form through fashion, poetry, dance, art and most exceptionally, her ability to sing. Anyone who has been lucky enough to hear her sing will agree that she has an exceptional voice that stands out from many of the artists of today. With her dismissal of the ever-popular falsetto, she can capture the attention of any crowd with her Erika Bahdyu-esque style and easily brings a different flavour to the stage.
It’s simply impossible to deny the beauty or talent of Gigi Ma’at. Fashionable no matter the occasion and a stunner on the stage, she first took the dive into music with heavy inspiration from her father and later on her friends. “I’ve always loved music,” she tells us. “It’s a part of who I am.” Like many others, Gigi started singing for fun and that later developed into an obsession. She grew up in a different time and from a very young age she has looked to music for inspiration and strength.

Her debut album ‘The Bridge’ caused quite the stir among the ladies and her critically acclaimed sophomore album ‘The MF Life’ also explores the emotion of love lost and found.
Fiona has written for Rihanna, toured with Kanye West & Alicia Keys, earned five BET Awards nominations, five Grammy Awards nominations, graced the VH1 Divas stage, won a Soul Train Music Award and even spent time in a group called The Renaissance with Drake just to name a few of her many accolades.
