Nothing is more cinematic than a Lana Del Rey video and in the newly premiered clip for her new single ‘Young & Beautiful,’ the sultry songstress cries diamond tears as a monstrous orchestra provides the dramatic instrumental for the track.
Directed by Chris Sweeney and shot by Sophie Muller, the extraordinarily cinematic visual is comprised of footage of a silhouetted orchestra spliced with footage of Del Rey – who looks extremely 60’s glam – singing directly into the camera. It’s highly simple but yet visually striking. Typical LDR.
Nicki Minaj sat down for an in-depth E! interview with Ryan Seacrest last night (May 9th) and when asked about rumors that have begun circulating that she won’t be sticking around ‘American Idol’ for another year, she had a lot of to say.
“That’s a million-dollar question,” she said when asked if she was leaving the show. ”I have to say this all the time, but I want people to know it’s genuinely from my heart. I love the people on Idol. I genuinely do. If I had to do this all over again, I would have done Idol.”
She continued: “Because it’s fun, it’s laughs. It’s kind of sad that what people read all the time is only when something is negative. But they don’t realize that we built a family. I feel happy here and I have to thank them for giving me this chance. They could have picked anyone in the world. And they picked me. So that’s all I’ll say about that.”

Alicia Keys is jetting all around the world on her sold out world tour but last night (May 9th), the 13-time Grammy winner took a short break to perform her new single ‘Tears Always Win’ on ‘American Idol.’
Impressive as always, Keys literally blew us away as she delivered the emotional tune. Surprisingly, Keys was nervous before taking the stage. “Looking at the audience is giving me butterflyz!!!” she tweeted. “Feels like I’m trying out for the show too!!!”
Mariah Carey is such a golden girl and in her newly released video for ‘#Beautiful,’ she hits the road with her on-screen lover Miguel and heads on a trip across the country.
Opening with footage of the two riding together on a motorcycle, it’s clear that they’re an extremely happy as MiMi nibbles on Miguel’s ear and places soft kisses over his neck – not to mention that short scene where Miguel sticks out his tongue like a major rock star.

To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on American Idol I have decided it is time to leave after this season,” he says. “I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.”

Avril Lavigne is back and in her newly premiered ‘Here’s To Never Growing Up’ video, the punk princess turns a high-school prom into a hardcore affair filled with graffiti, streamers and lots of destruction.
Definitely a feel good clip, we see Lavigne performing in various classroom settings while all the crazy kids wild out like there’s no tomorrow. From jumping into the pool to riding in shopping carts and spray painting the walls, they’re living like rockstars do on a daily basis.
Marina & The Diamonds has been popping up all across the United States over these past few months and last night (May 8th), the Welsh beauty took the stage at ‘Conan’ to perform the eerie ballad ‘Lies’ from her latest LP ‘Electra Heart.’
Dressed in a dark gown with exaggerated shoulder, Marina brought everything that we expected and most interestingly, she performed a new bridge featuring extra lyrics. “Cause I’m not too proud / If I’m not number one, then I’d rather be lonely,” she sings in a completely stripped down manner.
One of the first Ellie Goulding singles that went mainstream was her hit track ‘Starry Eyed’ and although it has since been overshadowed by other hits, Bridgit Mendler decided to tackle it during her ‘Hurricane Sessions’ acoustic video series.
Wearing a shirt with a unicorn on it (epic), Mendler breathed a new life into the track and although she delivered her own interpretation of ‘Starry Eyed,’ there were sill a few elements of Ellie’s rendition present.
